I am married to Brenda and have a grown up family. I have lived in the area of 45 years, 25 of which have been in High Green.
Over the years I have been involved in local campaigns. I was Chair of the successful fight against opencast mining at Howbrook and Vice Chair of Save Chapeltown Baths. Not all my efforts have been successful, I was co-opted on to the campaign to save Burncross School which sadly we lost.
On retiring as a Maintenance Electrician I volunteered to run the cafe at Paces which was a 40 hours a week commitment. After 11 years I decided time was right to call it a day. I am still a Governor at the Paces School, something which is very important to me.
